Social responsibility and sustainable development

Kilandu builds with lead-free wave soldering and RoHS and REACH compliant materials, and operates under Shenzhen's environmental, health and safety regulations. On request we supply material declarations, RoHS and REACH statements and packaging that meets the customer's own environmental commitments.

Environmental practice in production

The factory operates an ISO 14001:2015 certified environmental management system. In day-to-day terms that covers how solder dross, spent cleaning agents, waste laminate and packaging are segregated and disposed of, how energy use on the SMT and DIP lines is monitored, and how any spill or abnormal discharge is handled. Lead-free processes are standard, so the tin-lead exposure of an older assembly line does not arise.

People and safety

Around 150 people work at the Baoan District plant, more than 20 of them engineers and quality specialists. Production roles are covered by safe operating procedures and personal protective equipment appropriate to the process, and quality training is conducted on a regular cycle so that the standard the system specifies is the standard people actually work to.

Transparency with customers

Increasingly, buyers are asked to report on their supply chain rather than only on their own operations. Kilandu supports that by providing the documents the buyer needs to pass on: material declarations, RoHS and REACH statements, and information about the materials and processes used in a specific build. Where a customer's own code of conduct or supplier requirement goes further, it can be reviewed against what the factory actually does rather than agreed in principle.

What we can document for your report

Where a customer's own reporting needs supplier evidence, the documents available on request include RoHS and REACH statements, material declarations, and a description of the materials and processes used in a specific build. The plant's environmental management system is certified to ISO 14001:2015. The wider programme is set out on the corporate social responsibility page.
